People Ledger Privacy Policy

1. Summary

People Ledger is a personal tool for recording money you lend, money you borrow, repayments, due dates, contacts, locations, notes, reminders, and proof images.

The People Ledger feature is designed for personal record keeping. Borrowing records, manually added contacts, imported contacts, notes, locations, and proof images are primarily stored on your device. Account login, analytics, attribution, push notification delivery, security, diagnostics, and service operation may require limited data to be transmitted.

2. Important financial notice

People Ledger is not a lender, credit provider, debt collector, payment processor, or financial adviser. The app does not provide loans, approve loans, collect debts, or guarantee repayment. It only helps you keep personal records.

4. Permissions and why they are requested

Contacts: used only when you choose to import or select a person for a record. You can also add contacts manually.
Camera: used when you choose to take a proof photo.
Photos or media: used when you choose proof images from your gallery.
Location: used when you choose to fill in the current location for a record. You can also enter a location manually.
Notifications: used for due date, overdue, stale record, and account/service reminders if enabled.
Advertising ID: may be used by attribution or analytics SDKs to measure app installs and campaigns, subject to platform settings and applicable law.

If you deny a permission, the related feature may not work, but you can continue using the app with available manual alternatives where provided.

5. How we use information

To let you create, view, edit, and organize borrowing records.
To link records to contacts you choose.
To attach locations and proof images when you choose those features.
To support login, account status, logout, and account deletion.
To provide reminders and notifications.
To detect abuse, keep the service secure, troubleshoot issues, and improve the app.
To comply with legal obligations and Google Play policy requirements.

6. Sharing and third-party services

We do not sell your personal borrowing records. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate the app, including cloud messaging, analytics, attribution, crash diagnostics, hosting, security, and account services.

Third-party SDKs and services may process data according to their own privacy practices. Examples may include Google/Firebase services, Adjust attribution services, and Meta/Facebook analytics services if they are enabled in the app build.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a business transfer such as merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your phone, login credentials, and any screenshots or exports you create outside the app.

8. Retention and deletion

Local records remain on your device until you delete them, delete your account data through the app, clear app data, or remove the app.
Account, analytics, attribution, diagnostic, and support records may be retained for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
You can request account deletion in the app through Me > Account actions > Delete account.

9. Your choices and rights

You can deny optional permissions or disable them in system settings.
You can manually add contacts or locations instead of granting access.
You can edit or delete records inside the app where the feature is available.
You can log out or request account deletion from Account actions.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data.

10. Children

People Ledger is intended for adults and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will show a new effective date. Continued use of People Ledger after an update means you accept the updated Policy where permitted by law.
